Myra Infante Sheridan

 My name is Infante Sheridan, and I'm an FYE (College Success) Lecturer at Nevada State College and a third year doc student in literacy education at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. 

 

I'm originally from South Texas near the Mexican border, where I taught high school English before transitioning  to higher education.  I'm the author of Combustible Sinners and Other Stories (VAO, 2012). I have finished the first draft of a manuscript titled The Aztlan Chronicles, but I'm currently concentrating on my academic writing. With our current political environment, I'm itching to get back to my YA manuscript (click on the title to read an excerpt)!

 My research interests include culturally sustaining pedagogy and the writer identity of Latinx, refugee, and first generation college students.
